Hi, I’m Nat

Technical Developer and Fit Consultant

I’ve spent 20+ years in the “make miracles happen” business.

More specifically, making garments fit.

Really, really well.

Really, really well.

I’ve obsessed over garment details with brands including Kookai, M&S and Grace Loves Lace, where 2mm can completely change a neckline and “how do we make this fit more bodies?” is the kind of question that I’ll dream about.

At 15, I ripped up my jeans and re-stitched them with beadwork. Apparently, I dressed weird.

I prefer to think I was just experimenting.

Then I discovered pattern making.

While everyone else was following the instructions, I was looking at the shape, thinking about what
should happen, and occasionally getting told I was doing it wrong.

Until my teacher looked again and said:

“Actually, that works.”

Turns out, seeing things a little differently was going to be useful.

Fast forward 20+ years, and I’ve turned that instinct into a career across pattern making, garment development, technical leadership and international manufacturing.

I’m part technician, part translator, part detective.
Occasionally

I’m the person brands bring in when the fit feels off, the process feels messy, or the same issue keeps resurfacing collection after collection.

Because I understand that a great design is only the beginning.

That a beautiful tech pack means very little if the garment doesn’t fit.

And that fixing problems before they reach production is considerably less painful than unpicking them afterwards.

Your product needs to fit more than the mannequin.

A FEW THINGS

You should know about me

A little bit of fashion-tech history...

Before Garment Lab, I spent years in the industry solving the kinds of technical problems that don't always make it onto a CV.

Back in my Kookai days, I was Pattern Room Manager, and apparently I was also the person they got to talk about a rather impressive piece of machinery.

Spoiler alert: your customers do too. They’ll be cursing under their breath every time they put their neckline back in place. So your fit’s got a big job. Keep them comfortable.

And then? Your sales will rocket.
